Throughout time and history, mankind have been drawn to the same specific spots on earth because these spots vibrate high energy and have deep, healing powers. It is said there are over one hundred spots on earth that have this effect, but there are seven in particular that are special. These are the seven major chakra points of earth.

Just like every person, Mother Earth has her own chakras, or energy centres. Chakras are circular vortexes of energy that spin in a clockwise direction when balanced. In every person, these seven chakras are vertically aligned and begin at the base of the spine, moving upward to the crown of the head. On Mother Earth, these seven chakras are horizontally aligned and move around her land in a spiral pattern. These are places to which people have been seemingly inexplicably drawn to for pilgrimage, restoration, rejuvenation, or answers.

It is always possible for you to tune into these vibrations from afar. They exist within you because you are made from Mother Earth. To connect with these energy centres, look at their photo and meditate on them, visualize their vibrations balancing your own chakra energy.

The location of Mother Earth’s chakras are as follows:

Root Chakra

Found at Mount Shasta in California, USA. Connects us with our inner strength and sense of stability. This energy vortex is present within a dormant volcano called Mount Shasta of the Cascade Mountain Range. For centuries, people from all over the world have been attracted to this sleeping volcanic mountain. The function of the root chakra is to provide stability. And so, Mount Shasta, as believed by thousands of travellers, is the place where you go to ground yourself, drawing healing powers from the base of the earth.

Sacral Chakra

At the border of Peru and Bolivia lies Lake Titicaca, the largest lake of South America. The surroundings of the lake are believed to have been inhabited by the ancient Inca civilization, who considered its waters to be sacred. There is a submerged temple under the lake. The lake is the energy vortex of sexuality, sensuality, emotional regulation, and creativity.

Solar Plexus Chakra

Found at Ayer’s Rock (known as Uluru) and The Olgas (Kata Tjuta) in Australia. This place connects us with our life energy, sense of purpose, and inner strength. The aborigines have revered these structures as holy for centuries. They believe, perhaps rightly so, that this rock is a living thing, and they were all born from it.

Heart Chakra

Found at both Glastonbury and Stonehenge in southern England. The centre of love, compassion, healing, and forgiveness. Visiting the earth’s heart chakra can bring about harmony within your heart and help you heal through compassion and kindness. When your heart chakra is healed, you can reach out to the supreme power through your ability to love and forgive.

Throat Chakra

Found at both the Great Pyramids of Giza and Mount of Olives in Egypt. A centre of communication, truth-seeking, and personal expression. Both these locations are considered to be the voice of the earth. The throat chakra represents the inner voice in humans. It enables us to express and communicate. And similarly, Mother Earth expresses herself through her throat chakra, too.

Third-Eye Chakra

The third eye chakra moves to a different location within our planet every eon, which is roughly 2100 years. Almost every time that it moves, its location corresponds with one of the other major chakras. At present, it’s known to exist where the earth’s heart chakra is, in Europe — Glastonbury in England. Every eon, the location of the third eye chakra bears significance relevant to that particular age. The fact that it now coincides with the heart chakra tells us that the world has had enough of fighting and wars, and now’s the time for some healing through compassion.

Crown Chakra

Found at Mount Kailash in Tibet. This place is our connection to the highest levels of wisdom and shapes how we understand the universe and interpret divine guidance. The mountain is more than twenty thousand feet above sea level and has been considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites of the world. Kailash is considered the home of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology, who signifies the all-powerful divine masculine energy. For thousands of years, people from all over the world have set foot on this Mountain hoping to cleanse their sins, rise above their worldly emotions, and connect to the supreme being.
