In 2023, there will be four eclipses, including two lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses.

The first lunar eclipse of the year will occur on full moon day of Buddh Purnima, May 5th, 2023. This is a penumbral one in India.

The Last Lunar eclipse on Buddh Purnima was on 10th May 1884.

An eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon that has significant spiritual and scientific significance. When the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth while rotating, the Sunโ€™s shining light is obscured. Because of the moon, the sun begins to cover entirely or partially, which is known as a solar eclipse. Similarly, in a lunar eclipse, when the Sun passes between the Moon and the Earth, the Moonโ€™s light is obscured.

There are three types of lunar eclipses: total lunar eclipses, partial lunar eclipses, and penumbral lunar eclipses.

A penumbral eclipse happens when the Moon passes through the outer section of the Earthโ€™s shadow, known as the penumbra. This sort of eclipse may not be seen with the naked eye.

In the ancient times, Sages and Saints were aware of this occurrence of planets and constellations. Lunar and solar eclipses are mentioned in the Bible. Maharishi Atri knew everything there was to know about this. He was the one who notified everyone about the lunar and solar eclipses, as well as the state of the Earth, Sun, and Moon. In Vedas and Puranas, the eclipse is described in Rigveda, Bhagwat, Ramayana, Matsya Purana, Devi Purana, and Mahabharata.

According to Hindu mythology, on the day of Mohini Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini to settle a dispute between the gods and the demons over the nectar during the churning of the ocean. During this time, Lord Vishnu separated the deities and asuras, but the asuras tricked themselves into sitting in the deitiesโ€™ queue and drank the nectar. Rahu was doing this when the Moon and Sun, who were sitting in the line of deities, noticed him.

As a result, Rahu and Ketu regard the Sun and Moon as their foes and consume the Moon on full moon days and the Sun on new moon days. People believe that if they hold the Sun and Moon, the Sun and Moon will weaken and an eclipse will occur. During this process, negative energy is released into the atmosphere. As a result, in religious traditions, it is forbidden to perform any auspicious work during the eclipse.

When an eclipse occurs, another eclipse occurs fifteen days later. They come in pairs. The solar eclipse will undoubtedly be followed by a lunar eclipse. It is a universal rule.

Eclipse, the Sun and Moon are always participating in this occurrence, whether total, partial, penumbral, etc., and because of their engagement, whether the eclipse is tiny or large, it has an influence globally.

The Moonโ€™s phase has an impact on the mind and brain. The Moonโ€™s link with water, the Moonโ€™s origin from the sea, and the creatures that live in water will be touched by this eclipse.

The Moon governs the mind, morale, mentality, mind, state of mind, and mother.

The Moon is a water element planet, and the body contains 70% water. During the 24 hours of the days a man keeping about what decisions to take. Even while resting at night, man has thoughts.

The Moon is regarded the most auspicious of the nine planets since it moves like the mind. If there is one thing that will move quickly in the universe, it is the moon.

In the same way as Saturn takes 30 years to orbit the Earth, the Moon takes 27.5 days to orbit the Earth. That is, Saturn goes through one sign for 2.5 years and the Moon moves through one sign for 2.5 days.

The effect of a lunar eclipse lasts fifteen days, much like the effect of a solar eclipse lasts a month. The moonโ€™s negative effect, which, when combined with the effects of Rahu and Ketu, causes the moonโ€™s rays to block the work of our mind and brain.

The Moon governs weather patterns and is also directly tied to nature. The most difficult are the meteorological circumstances or natural disasters. Earthquakes, landslides, and severe rains are all possibilities in the month following the eclipse. This year is going to be difficult financially at the global level, monsoon is going to be strong, at the same time peace accord will take place that will bring peace for everyone and from the standpoint of natural disasters, the time is not right till the next eclipse on October 14th, 2023 โ€” Solar Eclipse.

Since the second lunar eclipse will occur on October 28, 2023, it will be a partial lunar eclipse. This again indicates that coming one year will be stressful as natural calamities will be hard.

The moon eclipse is the more crucial of the two planet eclipses for pregnant women. We all know that on full moon days, the moon is at its most powerful, and there is a high tide in the water. The ratio of salt and water in the oceanโ€™s water is the same ratio of salt and water in the womb of pregnant women in the embryotic fluid, therefore the moon can influence the expectant mothers.

The eclipse will be occurring in the sign of Libra (Tula) starting in Swati nakshatra and ending in Vishakha nakshatra.

Libra denotes the Westside. Problems may arise in Western countries, either as a result of political or natural causes.

Because Libra (Tula) is an air element sign, disasters such as plane crashes and fires are possible.

There will be movement in the financial market and politics. Women politicians must take extra care of their health.

Libra also denotes justice; at this time, any major decision might come from the court, implying that the court can issue a historical ruling that will have an impact on the country, government, and people.

In comparison to the solar eclipse, the lunar eclipse has a greater impact on nature, humans, and pregnant women.

Wise people always pray and worship according to their religion, faith, and belief, as well as giving charity and bathing in holy waters.

Aryans used to do Mantra practice for divinity power. You can also read your holy books to achieve Cosmic Bliss, depending on your religion and faith.

We should adore both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu since the moon is perched on Lord Shivaโ€™s head and is also considered to be the brother of Goddess Lakshmi and the brother-in-law of Lord Vishnu.

Worship and prayer are both accepted during this time. You can chant mantras of Lord Shiva โ€” โ€œOM NAMAH SHIVAYAโ€ , Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra , Shiv Gayatri Mantra.

Devoting this time to Lord Vishnu through mantras or listening to Lord Narayan, Vishnu Sahasranamam (1000 names of Lord Vishnu), in the dark of night can bring you peace and success.

Ascendants who have weak moon in their birth chart can chant the mantras of moon โ€œOM CHANDRAYA NAMAH or OM SOM SOMAYA NAMAHโ€ and Chandra Gayatri.

Because the shadow of the moon on the earth is one-sided, this eclipse cannot be seen everywhere. The eclipse will cast its shadow in the regions of Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa , Pacific , Atlantic , Antarctica and Indian Ocean.

The Moon will be below the horizon during the eclipse, but if the weather is clear and conditions are favorable, this shadow can be seen in India and other countries.

Eclipse starts on Friday , May 5th at 8.44pm IST and ends of Saturday, 6th May at 1.00am IST for a duration of 4 hours 16 minutes.

Eclipse is a natural phenomenon, astronomer and astrologer should work together for the sake of mankindโ€™s benefit.
